I often marvel at how crappy I can treat myself at times. Sometimes I will eat shitty, put off time for relaxation and fun to keep working, or hold off on buying myself some new lingerie when I love lace just soooo much! *Sigh.* My point in saying all of this is if we want love in our life we have to emanate it, vibrate it, shine it, ROCK IT! So, we must take time out to journal at the Ocean, make ourselves a cup of our favorite sleepy time tea with the right amount of honey and a dash of almond milk, bring ourselves out for a fine glass of wine that we revel in, and dance at home to our favorite The Cure song (mine is Fascination Street btw!). To love ourselves completely is essential, so magnificently essential to our shine and the glow we bring to others.
I keep in mind that my 2 and 1/2 year old watches me as I “treat” myself. And believe me I have had a habit of treating myself with overwork and sweets at night. But that is not the kind of love I want in my life. We often treat the ones we love better then ourselves. Believe me my doxie gets the best organic grub and my daughter gets, well essentially everything she wants to create, have fun, thrive and learn.
Actions always speak the loudest, and how we treat ourselves is the loudest of all. How we treat ourselves will mirror the love we receive. So, do you give yourself compliments, nurturing, nourishment, time to create art, dance, and play? Do you take yourself on dates or to a movie? Do you buy yourself gifts and flowers? How often do you take a long bath with candles or go on a brand new adventure? If we want a lover to treat us lovingly we must show them how! If we want to attract a love that is profound we must cherish and express ourselves so that they may see what we can share and how we will cherish them.
As the Buddha says, “You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire Universe, deserve your love and affection.” So, by all means my loves, romance yo’self!
